Abstract
The gradual rise of soft news and increasingly close cross-cultural communication have not only contributed to the demand for the translation of soft news, but also have opened up a new research area for translation researchers. The Adaptation Theory proposes that the use of the language needs a constant choice of the language, which can be served as a source of dynamic into translation studies. The Adaptation Theory can not only integrate translation theories into a coherent framework but also make an exploration of the dynamic adaptation, level of consciousness and other aspects, thus bringing many inspirations to broaden translation research.
This thesis aims to explore the instructive role of the Adaptation Theory in choosing the proper strategies in translating soft news and provide translation studies with a new perspective so as to achieve the best results of translation and dissemination.
