Abstract: This paper analyzes the inevitability of the separation of Mrs. Warren and Vivie in Mrs. Warren’s Profession. On the one hand, The paper displays the contradiction mainly from three factors of their characters, family backgrounds and social status. On the other hand, based on criticism on the hypocrisy in Victorian age and the evil of capitalist system, the inevitability of the separation of Mrs. Warren and Vivie, as well as Shaw’s sympathy to working-class people who suffered a lot and his despising against the conventional moralities in Victorian age, has been investigated
