Abstract: Jane Eyre, a novel written by a very famous English writer Charlotte Bronte, has obtained high reputation in the field of world literature since it was first published in 1847. Due to the rebellious, brave, and independent new female image created successfully by this novel, the striking western feminism reflected in this novel caused a lot close concerns from many literary critics. In the past, many famous scholars at home and abroad have conducted profound researches on this novel from different literary perspectives. In general, most of the researches explore its great literary value based on the theory of feminism, religious culture and psychoanalysis. Post-colonialism sprung up in 1970s after the Second World War. As an emerging school of literary criticism, it is not so mature and needs further development. Thus, this text will stand on the literary perspective of post-colonialism to profoundly analyze Jane Eyre, aiming at disclosing the imperialism-oriented principle, ethnocentrism and colonists’ political ideology’s intentional penetration into Jane Eyre.
