Abstract: With the rapid development of tourism, the tourism English has played an important role increasingly. Especially, the translation of scenic spots names is a key point in attracting tourists. At present, for the limited level of translating and the lack in work of regulating, there are a lot of problems of names’ traslation in Sichuan province. According to Skopos Theory, the core concept is that the most significant element in the process of translating is the purpose of holistic translating activity. Based on it, this article is aimed at discussing the translation of scenic spots names. It shows the application of transliteration and free translation in the spots names’ translation, at the same time, it points out the related disadvantages. Then, it sums up the main categories of it, points out the problems, and gives the appropriate translating methods.
