Abstract
The masterpiece Gulliver’s Travels published in 1726, is a successful work through which Swift exposes kinds of aspects of English society by the way of satire, and this satire involves the field of science and humanity besides politics and religion. England at that time is filled with the collide between Whig and Tory and the battle between England and France. In my dissertation, all these aspects will be the targets of Swift’s pens. Thus we will understand Swift’s attitude to the English diplomatic policy towards England and understand his opinion to the people of that period, and also understand his social idea. Satire is an outstanding and prominent writing skill of Swift. Hence, in this novel, satire is typical.
