Abstract: The thesis uses the myth of Cain in Bible as text and analyzes the image of Cain. This thesis focuses on three different aspects of the seven deadly sins, which are greed, wrath and envy. It is expected to provide a new viewpoint and foothold to help know more about the image of Cain. In order to offer some insight into the image of Cain, the thesis is discussed in three directions. In the first place, Cain’s greed will be analyzed by introducing his birth, name, occupation and his offering. Then Cain’s wrath will be analyzed by his concrete behavior of murdering Abel. In the last place, it mainly talks about Cain’s envy, which would be analyzed under the communication between God and Cain. In a word, this thesis conducts analysis from three different aspects which discusses three characters of Cain respectively. Finally, achieve the goal of having a deeper knowledge of the image of Cain.
