Abstract: This paper analyzes the theoretical basis of recitation input from the perspective of SLA theories. It aims to explore the significance of recitation input in the following aspects: reinforcement of language input, control over the negative transfer of mother tongue and improving of language sense. The main focus is on the advantages of movie line imitation as recitation input in terms of phonology, language expressions and culture. It points out that imitating actors’ lines in English movies is an effective way to learn English as a foreign language.
