Abstract：English is an important means of the social communication. The ultimate purpose of learning English is to communicate. However, to most of junior high school students, vocabulary learning is the biggest obstacle in communication in English. By using questionnaire and class observation, this study mainly explores how the Communicative Language Teaching approach can be applied in vocabulary teaching in junior high schools in Yunnan. Based on a case study, this paper discusses some problems in vocabulary teaching on their application of Communicative Language Teaching approach in junior high school, and then some suggestions are put forward.
