Abstract: This thesis aims to study how to apply Task-based Language Teaching (TBLT) to English reading teaching in junior high school. On the bases of the Task-based Language Teaching, the author indicates how to design tasks, how to apply them to the reading teaching, the efficiency of task-design and the advantages of TBLT. At the same time, the author points out some aspects that we should pay attention to while using TBLT. The conclusion is that once TBLT used properly in the junior high school reading teaching, it can help arouse the students’ learning interest, improve their comprehensive use of English. What’s more, it will improve the teaching efficiency.
