Abstract:Pride and Prejudice is the most popular masterpiece of Jane Austen. Based on the marriages of Mr. Bennet's daughters, Pride and Prejudice depicts the marriage experience of Mr. Darcy and Elizabeth, and vividly reflects the love and marriage of the British upper class and the conservative state of township life in the late 18th century to the early 19th century. Jane Austen describes in detail the four marriages with different endings to explore the "Pride and Prejudice" in the concept of love and marriage, and in the meanwhile, she states her views on the value of marriages: A happy marriage is based on the true love of each other, not based on the money. Besides, she is not for the imprudent marriage. It cannot be denied that social status and money play a protective role in a happy marriage, but it is the second to the love and affection of a couple. This novel, to a certain extent, is the full manifestation of the author's concept of love and marriage at that time, and spurs people to think about what is a perfect marriage, so it has some certain social and realistic meaning.
