Abstract: This paper aims to analyze the dystopian theme of the novel The Hunger Games systematically. Scholars, both at home and abroad, put great emphasis on the theme of feminism. As to the theme of dystopia, there is a little detailed and in-depth analysis. The paper takes an overview of the origin and development of dystopian fiction and summarizes typical features of dystopian literature. It takes The Hunger Games as an example to analyze the dystopian theme in depth and in detail. The thesis reveals the conflict and defects under the appearance of stable and peaceful society, which are disastrous consequences resulting from abuse of technology, governmental totalitarianism and alienation of human nature. It aims to help people further reflect on potential survival crisis in modern society and enlighten people to think about their development in the future.
