Abstract:Movies can show different cultures and customs and values from different perspectives. In the movie world, there are not only a lot of excellent films, but also a touch to the hearts of the audience. The Homeless to Harvard is a successful inspirational movie. It is a very famous inspirational film in the United States. It introduces American cultural ideas through the wonderful story plot, and the film also shows the individualistic value system of American personal struggle to win all the individualism. It is easy to make the college students feel the strong American cultural atmosphere.

This article explores the characteristics of American culture and the educational function of contemporary college students through the analysis of all aspects of Homeless to Harvard. It shows that Liz Murray, a girl of the slum of New York, has experienced all the frustrations of life. Through his tenacious will and unremitting efforts, he has changed his frustrations, realized his wish, achieved his own dream, and finally went into the Harvard University. This film first introduces the root of American cultural concept as a whole and is the source of the film. Secondly, it analyses the big environment of the film market in which it is in. It is easy to compare the important significance of the film in the present time. Finally, it analyzes the characteristics of American spiritual culture and explores its educational significance for college students. Through this series of analysis, we will deeply explore the charm of American culture and feel the difference between our values and ours.

摘要:电影可以从多方面、多角度的展示不同民族以及不同国家的文化习俗、价值观念等。在电影界中，不乏大量优秀的影片，能够给观众的心灵带来触碰。其中《风雨哈佛路》就是一部成功的励志电影。它是美国一部非常著名的励志电影，通过精彩的故事情节向人们介绍了美国文化观念，同时影片也体现出了美国的个人奋斗赢得一切的个人主义思想价值体系，很容易使得易接受事物的大学生感受到浓厚的美国文化氛围。

本文通过对《风雨哈佛路》各方面的解析，来探究美国文化的特征以及对当代大学生所具有的教育功能。这部影片展现了一位生长在纽约贫民窟女孩莉兹 ·默里经历人生的种种坎坷，通过自己顽强的意志和不懈努力，改变了自己坎坷的命运，实现了自己的愿望，成就了自己的梦想，最终走进了哈佛大学的故事，本文通过探究《风雨哈佛路》这一电影，首先整体介绍美国文化观念的根源，是影片出现的源头；其次对所其处在的电影市场的大环境进行分析，容易对比得出这部电影在当代具有的重要意义；再次是对影片的重点分析，用引用经典节选片段来反映一些现实问题并对其进行分析，最后对美国精神文化特征进行总结以及探究其对大学生的教育意义。在通过这一系列的解析，来深究美国文化的魅力，感受其价值观与我们的不同之处。
