Abstract: Humanism, as an important ideological weapon, has sufficiently embedded in Hamlet, which has great influences on later generations. This paper aims to investigate humanism in Hamlet and other characters through the analysis of characters and plots in this play. With detailed analysis, Hamlet is found an image with equality, rationalism influenced by humanism education. Laertes is an image of character with kindness, love but is easily influenced by others. The old King has humanism in his respect to women, and the Queen and Polonius has humanism in their honest care for their children. With these analysis, it is expected to contribute better understanding of Shakespeare’s humanism.
