ABSTRACT:With the development of globalization and the deepening of human interaction, the social relationship of the people is entering a full development. In the face of the deepening of the complexity of interpersonal communication, people should give full play to their subjectivity, choose and use the medium of communication carefully, and pay attention to the language art of communication, so as to achieve a comprehensive and harmonious development of social relations. The theory of verbal behavior has shifted the study of language and learning from language to social function, and how to understand the words is the key to effective dialogue. Therefore, this article also aims to bring some inspirations to our daily communication, so that we can learn to use language appropriately to avoid language mistakes and achieve successful language communication. At the same time, using the theoretical analysis problem and under the guidance of teachers, put forward my own views. The theory of speech act has been developing rapidly since it was put forward, and the analysis of characters in literary works is not uncommon. We can learn from the theory of speech act, and take the example of Balzac's Eugenie Grandet, which can understand the intention of speech act and deduce the true meaning of utterance.
