Abstract: Film is a kind of brilliant art mixed with culture and business. Therefore, in the process of translating the title of the movie, we need to consider all aspects of factors. Skopos theory breaks through the traditional translation theory and puts forward that the translation behavior is not only the inter-lingual conversion, but also a purposeful activity as well as a purposeful intercultural communicative activity. This study introduces the main ideas and rule of skopos theory, and describes the genres, features and functions of film titles. It also make an analysis of translation strategies according to the skopos theory. It point out that the skopos theory has guidance on the film title translation, and has a better effect on the translation.
