ABSTRACT
Eating is a necessary part of our life. Different diets of different regions have its’ own etiquettes of eating, which includes the table manners. China is a state of ceremonies with a long history of table manners, and American are also particular about the table manners. Nowadays, with the deepening of China's opening to the outside world, China and America have closer ties and more frequent communications. Table manners have played an important role in today's international communication，it is not only the needs of maintaining their own images, but also the needs of improving the effectiveness of dual efficiency and enhance competitiveness to learn and use correct table manners. Therefore, it is necessary to understand the table manners between China and the America. This paper discusses the differences on table manners between China and America and dig out the causes of the differences. Only by understanding their differences can we communicate better with each other.
