Abstract
So far, many researches have established that immersion English teaching is an effective way in improving students' second language level. Based on the theories related to immersion teaching, Critical Period Hypothesis, Motivation Mode, Cognitive Theory, and the findings made by many scholars, home and abroad, this thesis tries to explore a comprehensive immersion teaching mode and improve English teaching quality in the primary schools in China.
This paper is divided into five parts. The first part gives a brief introduction of immersion teaching and the significance of the whole paper; the second part is literature review, including the definition of immersion teaching and previous researches on immersion teaching; the third part is some related theories about immersion teaching; the fourth part discusses the specific methods in the aspects of creating English environment, establishing friendly relationship between teachers and students, employing strategies for language input and output and cooperating with parents and creating family immersion environment; the last part a conclusion of the whole thesis.
