Abstract:Most traditional teaching approaches do not provide students with flexible reaction to what happens to them. As the real-life situation requires, educators have to look for a better teaching approach. And Communicative Approach (CA) is mainly to improve students’ communicative competence, their language ability and flexible reaction. With the help of communicative activities, classes can be more vivid and interesting, and learners can handle real-life situations better.
Though CA is quite popular among educators and learners, dilemma still exists in present English teaching. Can CA be applied in class or not? What are the dilemmas? This research reviews the historical background of CA and analyzes the research situation of the CA in the world. It is going to figure out what dilemmas do lack of motivation, students negative attitude towards CA, too much attention on accuracy, faultiness evaluation system and teachers’ lacking of ability bring to independent college. This paper is going to do a survey in an independent college, with the help of questionnaire, based on the predecessors and tries to give some advice on Communicative Approach (CA).

摘要:传统的语言教学方法带给学习者的是古板,不懂变通的反应,而在现实场景的要求下,教育者不得不寻求更好地教授方法。交际法是以提高交际能力为核心,旨在提高学生语言运用能力及实际应变能力。交际法通过借助交际活动使得课堂变得生动有趣,借此为学习者日后真实场景的操练提供协助。
虽然交际法是广受教育者与受教育者喜爱的一种教学方法。但基于现状英语教学仍然存在使用的困境。交际法是否能顺利地应用到英语课堂中去?其困境有哪些?本文将在前人研究的基础上对此进行探讨及提出相关的教学建议。本文追溯了交际法产生的历史背景,分析了交际法在国内外的研究现状,通过以独立学院作为研究的对象,借助问卷调查的方法了解交际法在英语教学中存在的如学生动机不强,学生对交际法的态度,对语言准确性的关注太多,考试制度的限制以及教师的能力几个方面带来的困境。
