Abstract
Phonics is one of the most important means of English Teaching. In the English teaching of primary schools, many students show terribly strong interests in English at first. However when it comes to Grade Five, students feel fear of English even hate it, because they are requested to write. In this study, a contrastive research will be done in classes, which is supposed to answer the following questions: (1) Will phonics increase the students’ accuracy of memorizing words? (2) Will phonics be accepted by students?
