Abstract: Language is a major means of communications, and English has now become a global language. With the development of history and the improvement of culture exchange in two countries—America and Britain, the differences in some fields are clear and are also reflected in their languages. Nowadays, American English plays an important part in our daily life. It differs from traditional British English in many aspects, such as words, grammar, tone and so forth. The paper mainly discusses the topic of the differences between British English (B.E.) and American English (A.E.) from the perspective of vocabulary teaching. Besides, it’s also involved in the significance of combining effective teaching methods with the vocabulary differences learning of British English and American English.

摘要：语言是一种主要的沟通方式，而现今英语已成为国际通用语言。随着美国和英国这两个国家历史的发展和文化交流的进步，一些领域呈现的差异显而易见，而这些差异也反映在两者的语言方面。现在，美语在我们日常生活中占有一席之地。它在许多方面区别于传统英国英语，比如词汇，语法，音调等等。本文主要讨论了从词汇教学角度看英语与美语差异的论题。除此之外，文章也探讨了将有效的教学法和英美词汇差异学习相结合的意义。
