Abstract: With the frequent exchange between Chinese and Western culture exchanges have become increasingly. Many Chinese people have great passions for western traditional festivals but ignore Chinese traditional Festivals gradually. This paper aims to investigate the phenomenon that some western traditional festivals influence Chinese culture by comparing some Chinese important festivals with western ones, analyze the positive and negative influences on Chinese culture produced by western traditional festivals and discuss the main reasons for the popularity of western festivals. Then it will put forward the view that Chinese people should hold a proper attitude towards western culture, and in the meanwhile, they should keep Chinese traditional Festivals from disappearing and then carry forward the Chinese culture so as to promote the integration and exchange of the Chinese and Western cultures.
