Abstract: Abstract is a terse summary of the content of dissertation. The quality of abstracts does not only show the writer’s capability of scientific research, but also reflects the quality of the paper. This article, guided by skopos theory, analyzes the common mistakes in the English abstracts of non-English major students in Nanjing Xiaozhuang University, aiming at informing students of the principles of translating abstracts and improving the quality of English abstracts.
