Abstract:Blends are new words which are formed by combining parts of two or more words or a word plus a part of another word. Blends not only possess brief morphological structures, but also own humor and creative expressions. Nowadays,since people advocate rapid rhythm and high efficiency, blends’ characteristics meet people’s needs of language. This thesis focuses on a systematic expatiation and study of structural features of blends, together with a general description on the sources of blends.

中文摘要:拼缀词是将两个或两个以上的单词加以剪接，或者一个单词加上另一个单词的一部分而合成的新词。拼缀词具有简洁的语言形式，其表达幽默而有创造性，符合崇尚快节奏、高效率的我们对于语言的要求。本文主要从结构特征对拼缀词进行系统的阐述和研究，并简述了拼缀词词汇来源。
