Abstract:This paper argues that the violations of the cooperative principle are a very useful way in conversations. Applying the principles of discourse analysis, this paper analyzes the talk show conversations in the US and China, and finds that in the talk show speakers sometimes violate the maxims of the cooperative principle. The violations can make communication polite and it is a very effective way to avoid embarrassment in specific conversation.
It is sincerely hoped that this paper can help speakers to improve their communication skills.

摘要:脱口秀是一种源于日常谈话的语言形式。文章以语言学中的“合作原则”理论为角度对美国和中国脱口秀节目语料进行分析,发现在脱口秀节目中,主持人和嘉宾有意地违反“合作原则”。违反“合作原则”是会话交流中的一种常见现象，也是会话分析的重要课题。而这种行为使沟通更有效、得体。希望通过本文可以使我们在对话的过程中注意“合作原则”，了解违反“合作原则”的意义，以便更好的沟通交流。
