Abstract:The author of this article makes an effect to use the Nida’s functional equivalence to resolve or to explore the principles of caption translation, in order to be able to fulfill on Caption Translation which is still not perfect, and make some efforts to reduce the complaint of domestic audience in the field of uneven translation quality, to meet their British and American film culture more in-depth understanding, and thus more conducive to their Anglo-American cultural study. The first part of thesis introduces the intention of writing this article and research bcakground at home and abroad; the second part introduces Nida’s functional equivalence translation theory and its applications; the third part analyzes the characteristics of movie English and its artistic characteristics; Finally, the author reiterates her own point of view, good caption translation should be basis on the Nidd’s functional equivalence theory, considering the audience's understanding and digestion, and it should reach the effect of readers.

中文摘要:本文作者尝试用奈达的功能对等翻译原则解析或探讨现代影视作品的翻译问题，试图能够对影视字幕翻译尚不完善做出一番努力，减少国内观众对该领域参差不齐的翻译质量的抱怨，满足国内观众对英美影视文化更深入的了解，从而更利于他们学习英美文化。论文第一部分介绍本文的写作意图、国内外研究状况；第二部分主要介绍奈达的功能对等翻译理论及其应用；第三部分解析英语影视作品的语言特点及其艺术特色；最后一部分，作者重申了自己的观点，好的影视翻译应该建立在奈达的功能对等原则基础上，考虑观众的理解力和消化力，达成影视字幕翻译作品的读者效应。
