Abstract:The idiomatic phrases are the essence of human languages. It has great local characteristic, and it reflects the relationship of culture and languages.
Three types of idioms are distinguished from the angle of cultural features: corresponding idioms, semi-corresponding idioms and non-corresponding idioms.
The author of the thesis provides abundant examples to prove how cultural factors behind idioms influence their translation. Translation is not only a linguistic activity but also a cross-cultural event. The author hopes that the research will attract the readers’ attention to cultural factors behind language and enable the readers to adequately comprehend and faithfully translate idioms.

中文摘要:习语是语言的精华，是一种文化词语，能折射出语言背后的各种不同的文化现象. 翻译的过程不仅是一种语言转换的过程，尤其是习语的翻译, 是一种跨文化的交际活动。本文根据习语与文化之间的关系，将习语分为三种类型：对应的习语，半对应的习语，非对应的习语。不同民族之间的文化差异的存在决定了对原文读者不言而喻的事实却会让译文读者，甚至让译者一头雾水.笔者希望本篇论文能使读者重视影响跨文化交际的文化因素，使他们能够准确理解习语，进而忠实地翻译习语。
