中文摘要：话语标记语在日常交际中几乎无处不在,熟练的掌握话语标记语不仅可以帮助说话者连贯、准确表达其内心想法，更能使交际顺利进行。如果中国学生能够熟练掌握英语中话语标记语的具体用法，那么就能更好的用英语进行表达和交流。well作为一个话语标记语的“入门词”，了解并掌握其意义及用法更是尤为重要。本文以关联理论为理论基础。作为关联理论代表之一，Blakemore认为话语标记语就是说话者用来传达语境信息,使谈话更具备关联性，以达到成功谈话的目的。本文以美国情景喜剧《破产姐妹》为语料来源，探讨并分析话语标记语well的具体语用功能。《破产姐妹》作为如今最热的美国情景剧，受众广且贴合日常生活。通过研究分析，最终得到话语标记语well有以下四种语用功能：缓和标记功能；纠正标记功能；话题标记功能；信息短缺标记功能。
