ABSTRACT: What's the meaning of the Afro-American? Macroscopically speaking, they are the person who have dark skin, originally from Africa. Microcosmically speaking, African-Americans were transported unlawfully to the United States by the European colonizers in history.
It's easy to find that the racial discrimination in the United States has always existed, discrimination against Afro-American has infiltrated all levels of society. President Obama gives quite a shock for the United States and even the world. His election as the president of the United States has given power and passion for the Afro-American. His reelection make all over the world pay attention to them again. There is no doubt that there are enormous changes for the social status of the African-American and these changes have profound historical origins. This paper aims at making a preliminary exploration for the change of the historical status of the Afro-American through the literature review in the different historical periods as well as the historical significance of the Obama's reelection. The result of this study shows that through the fight of the Afro-American, their status has been improving higher and higher.

摘要:什么是非洲裔美国人？宏观的讲，他们是一群有着黑色肌肤的人，源自于非洲。微观的讲，他们是在历史上被欧洲殖民者非法运往美国的非洲人。
不难发现美国的种族歧视从一开始就一直存在，对黑人的歧视渗透到社会的各个阶层。奥巴马总统的出现引起了美国乃至世界不小的震动。他的首次任命美国总统已经给予了美国黑人不少动力和支持，而他的再次连任又使世界的目光聚焦在了黑人身上。由此可见美国黑人的社会地位经历了翻天覆地的变化，而这些变化有其深刻的历史渊源。本文通过在不同历史时期的文献回顾以及结合奥巴马连任总统的历史意义，对美国黑人历史地位的变迁做一个初步的探索。
