摘 要: 《世说新语》被称为中古时期的“百科全书”，书中描摹的世态人情对于后人了解魏晋南北朝的社会历史有着重要作用。《源氏物语》是日本古典文学的典范之作，书中淋漓尽致的描绘出了平安时期的社会风情百态，是历史的诗意书写之作。而在两书中均出现了两个“另类”的女性形象——丑女和妒妇。本论文试图通过对《世说新语》和《源氏物语》中“丑女”形象在心理和才情等方面进行的比较，探究“丑女”形象背后所体现的中国魏晋南北朝时期和日本平安时期女性的社会地位和女性心理的差异；通过“妒妇”形象的比较，深入两个文本所展示的历史时期的社会背景，探究这类形象产生的缘由的异同。
