【中文摘要】哈代是英国的一位杰出的批评现实主义小说家。他在不同体裁、不同作品中塑造了许多令人难忘的女性形象，因此他笔下的威塞克斯成了一个多姿多彩的世界。正是这些女性背离了传统价值取向和世俗道德标准，从而凸现了“女性意识”的觉醒。本文以爱情作为切入口，分析哈代笔下四位女性不同的遭遇以及殊途同归的悲剧命运。

【Abstract】The famous British writer Thomas Hardy is an outstanding novelist, which famous for criticizing realism. In different genres and works, he created a number of memorable images of women. For example, the Wessel he described is such a colorful world. These women in the Wessel show the readers the awakening of feminist consciousness, departure from the traditional value and secular ethical standards orientated by the general values in that time. This paper makes a deep research to reveal the tragic fate of women through the point of love. Women are completely restricted, limited and bounded in a certain situation that men’s power is the supremacy, thus, women cannot find independent self-esteem. Hardy showed the tragic fates of these women, as well as his deep sympathy and concern for them.
